HOW TO set up a SIP trunk for a Skype for Business server

To set up a SIP trunk for a Skype for Business server

There is an exclusive relationship between IP addresses (of the costumer) and a SIP trunk.

It is not possible to use multiple SIP trunks with the same IP addresses and to keep track of call costs in a correct way.

There is no username, password or authentication. All authorization is based on IP ACL.

It is possible to use TCP or TLS over TCP, for media it is possible to use SRTP (best-effort)

To connect to a Skype for Business exchange the following is needed:

  •     Jointly agree on DNS SRV
  •     List (IP/Port) of the costumers mediation servers
